In Sophocles play “Antigone” there are many conflicts between the characters. The main conflict is between Antigone and Creon. Creon, who is Antigone's uncle, becomes king of Thebes after Antigone's brothers died fighting for the throne. Creon is a totalitarian type of leader. He makes a lot of rules and laws for the people of Thebes to follow. One of the laws that he enforced was that no one was to bury Polyneices because he was a trader to the town of Thebes.

It's Just An Illusion
In the play “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams, there are many scenes where Stella is living in her own little fantasy world but the biggest example of her not wanting to accept the truth is at the end of the play when she says to Eunice “I couldn't go on believing her story and live with Stanley” (Stella 1232). This quote proves that Stella is living in a fantasy world but she is definitely not the only one in this play who is fantasizing about a better life. After Stella confides in Eunice she tells Stella to not believe Blanche's story proving that Eunice also is living in a fantasy world. “Don't you ever believe it. Life has got to go on. No matter what happens, you’ve got to keep on going” (Eunice 1232).
Oppression and Egalitarianism
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated that “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” What Martin Luther King was saying was that the black slaves at the time were being oppressed by the white landowners and the slaves needed to stand up for themselves and demand freedom. The white landowners were not going to give them any type of freedom unless the slaves fought for it. The oppressor, in any situation, will not give up until the oppressed forces the oppressor to stand down.
My Verse
Love is in the air. We see love everyday, everywhere. A lot of songs, movies, books, and poems are about love. People fall in love everyday. They fall in love with nature, literature, animals but most importantly, they fall in love with each other. The poems "Alone" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Wall Hanging I Never Noticed" by Dorothea Lasky and the song "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles say a lot about love.
